Miami beat 3-1 with goals from Messi and Suarez.

Miami won 3-1 thanks to goals from Messi and Suarez, although Messi was replaced due to an injury that will prevent him from playing in Miami's next MLS match. In the 2nd leg of Inter Miami's CONCACAF Champions Cup round-of-16 encounter against Nashville, the team prevailed 3-1 thanks to a goal from Lionel Messi, who left the field due to a leg injury.

In the 8th minute, Messi set up Luis Suarez for a goal that opened the score and l

ater gave Inter Miami an early lead on Wednesday night with a goal in the first half.

Four minutes into the game, Anibal Godoy of Nashville fouled him, earning him a free kick, but his shot was blocked. A short while later, the 36-year-old took advantage of his chance. Using his excellent vision, he fit a pass to a running Suarez, who scored a goal for the team.

The supporters began shouting Messi's name when he scored from inside the penalty area after Diego Gomez passed to him. Later on, Taylor scored with a header after Suarez had assisted.

After the legendary Argentinean player was replaced in the 50th minute, coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino disclosed that Messi had been rested due to a minor leg problem that had begun to affect him throughout the match.

Martino added, "He has got too much on his right posterior.  It hurt him, so we decided it would be best to let him quit the game rather than try to convince him to go further.

According to Martino, Messi will probably not make it to the team's Major League Soccer (MLS) game against DC United on Saturday.

Martino stated, "I do not want to take a chance."

Inter Miami moved on to the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals with the victory and a 5-3 average goal edge in the series.

"After the game, Nashville coach Gary Smith stated that Lionel Messi was extremely sharp in the first fifteen minutes of the game." He was next questioned about what he felt as Messi trotted off the field.

First of all, Smith joked, "Thank goodness." He has such a profound effect on the other members of the group. Although they have other excellent players, none can perform to his level. I was happy to see him succeed because their performance had declined, which provided us with some motivation. After Messi signed Inter Miami and MLS last summer, this was the fourth matchup between Gary Smith's Nashville team and Messi.

"It is an endless puzzle," Smith remarked before the game on Wednesday. "You attempt to form a group in an effort to restrict his abilities. No matter how skilled or organized a person is, they will always find a way, as he has demonstrated throughout his career at the highest levels."

Inter Miami has played seven games this month, four of which have occurred in the last ten days. Messi will likely play two warm-up games for the Copa America team with the Argentina national squad.
